Spiritual Life
The spiritual aspect of Black Forest Academy goes beyond Bible classes and
weekly chapel services. BFA is preparing students to discern God's will
for their lives and to influence their world through biblical thought,
character, and action. It is BFA's goal that every student participates
in a small group for support, growth, and accountability (over 70% of
our high school population is currently involved).
Additionally, students are expected to attend Sunday church services, either on the
school campus or in their own community. The majority of students attend
Black Forest Christian Fellowship, an English language international church
that meets in the BFA Auditorium. Students are also encouraged to participate
in a variety of ministry outreach opportunities. Musical groups, sign teams and
mime/drama teams perform in churches, retirement homes, schools and on
street corners in nearby cities. Approximately 30 of our seniors are enlisted
to help with leadership of our middle school weekly youth group evening.
Lastly, during Spring Break, teams of students
and staff members volunteer for a week of ministry in Eastern & Western Europe,
the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
These projects involve street theater, music,
construction, day camp for children, speaking in churches and schools, and sports outreach.
